Individual Therapy

Therapy is a space to explore and develop skills that will support and empower your mental health. It is a process that involves us working together to understand you and your history, and making sense of the challenges you are experiencing in the present.

What to Expect

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, and for you to make sure you feel comfortable in the space. I will ask you some questions about what you have been experiencing and provide you with information about treatment. We will work together to set goals for therapy and determine an ongoing plan for therapy. Appointment frequency differs for each individual depending on their personal circumstances, however treatment is most effective when sessions are held weekly to fortnightly on an initial basis .

It is normal to feel emotional after your first appointment. It can be a good idea to schedule something relaxing or enjoyable after this session, rather than going straight back to school or the office.

Psychological Testing & Assessment

I offer comprehensive psychological evaluations for the assessment of intellectual disability, specific learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia), giftedness and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for those aged 6-16.

The assessment process typically includes: a parent interview, a teacher interview, 2–3 testing sessions with the young person, a family feedback session, and a teacher feedback phone call to talk through the implementation of recommendations. Parent interviews and feedback sessions typically take 60-90minutes, and testing sessions take 90-120minutes.

Once all information is collected and testing sessions are complete, the final written report is generally ready within 2-4 weeks.

Price: $2,500 for a full comprehensive assessment, including a written report. *price may be less if a part psychological assessment has been completed already.
